Kaizan: The Evil Opposite of Kaizen

Everyone is familiar with the company “kaizen”, the Japanese word and refers to the process of continuous improvement to make in a company. The quality of the products can not be improved in one or two steps. Every company should be the organization to make improvements at every stage of the production process and there is always room for improvement. Introduction of improvements, the production easier and more profitable. The benefits of increased economy and society have the edge to compete with any other company in the market.

There is another word Kaizan that sounds similar, but completely different meaning. He refers to the unfair practice of falsifying business records and it is illegal in many countries. When cooking the books, the company is to try to mislead the authorities and the public. Sole purpose of the organization is to make money by hook or by crook. In practice, no improvement takes place in the organization of business and all that hype is trying to portray the market.

In a competitive business world where everyone is trying to make a profit, only very few people understand what that means kaizen. It is therefore necessary to explain the tools of kaizen and sound business practices, to make improvements in production.

The most difficult obstacle to overcome in implementing the improvements, the corporate culture. Speaking of improvement does not result in quality products of society, it must take concrete steps taken to change existing business practices.

Kaizen in the true sense is to create not only on reducing the number and try to get a picture of a successful company, in public. These efforts, some short-term benefits, but they do not improve the quality of its products.

Toyota, the world’s leading manufacturers of vehicles, the false promises and unrealistic to its customers is an example of a company, where kaizen is practiced with fervor. Its mission statement says simply that the company take full responsibility for his actions and the quality of its products.

To achieve this, product quality, waste must be eliminated at all levels of the production process. It includes the effectiveness of accounting, human resources, marketing, etc.. The company should focus on long-term goals rather than short-term goal. The organization of the company as a whole, from top to bottom should be mandated to focus on continuously improving their production process.

Konusuke Matsushita once explained why the western societies are doomed to failure. He introduced strict adherence to the theory of X as the main reason for the failure of Western societies. Western companies are excluded, the working class of decision-making processes and staff are forced to work like machines. There is no unity between workers and management in Western societies. These companies will not improve the quality of their products.

Kaizen, on the other hand, emphasizes the unity of all and respect for each other. He recognizes the fact that are the backbone of a company’s employees. Thus, there is every possible way to improve the quality of workers. In order to improve product quality, the company must comply not only with his workers, but also all other people, the company has relationships with both. This is an area in which Western companies fail miserably. They point to the lame excuses for lack of respect for its employees and customers.

All measures taken to improve the quality of services and products must be based on long-term goals. Improved quality is possible only if each individual in society committed to improving the quality of their products. That is the mentality of people who reach for most changes to improve quality.
